Help with dark circles under the eyes

Dark shadows under the eyes indicate too little sleep, stress or overwork. Maybe you've just been partying too long or have a baby at home that's keeping you up at night. Maybe you've had a stressful phase at school, college or work. Whatever the cause, the result is the same: dark circles under your eyes that make you look tired and sickly. Below we will show you a few tips on how to get rid of them as quickly as possible.

Relaxation and enough sleep

Whether you haven't gotten enough sleep recently or you've had a stressful time, dark circles under the eyes are usually a sign that your body needs some rest. Take small breaks, try to regularly incorporate small relaxation exercises into your everyday life, and get enough sleep. At some point, a permanent state of exhaustion not only affects your appearance, but also your health.

Cool down, baby

Your grandmother already knew the trick: a cold spoon on swollen eyes can work wonders. The cold causes the blood vessels under the eyes to contract and the dark circles appear less severe. So if you often wake up in the morning with puffy eyes, a spoon or a cooling eye mask placed in the fridge the day before can make a big difference.

It's not pickle season

Eye areas that are moisturized appear noticeably fresher and plumper. A quick and inexpensive option is the classic cool cucumber slices, which you can simply place on your closed eyes for a few minutes.

Just wait and see

A very old tip to counteract dark circles under the eyes and at the same time a great recycling method: used tea bags. Green and black tea are particularly suitable for use, but they should be relatively untreated and contain no flavorings. The tea it contains stimulates lymphatic flow and makes your eyes look fresher. Simply pour boiling water into a tea bag, let it cool down and then place it on your closed eyes for a few minutes. Afterwards you can enjoy your tea in peace.

Cover dark circles

If the night has been so short that even the best measures don't help, then there's only one thing that can help: cheating. Luckily there is makeup! Simply mix a little moisturizer with a drop of makeup and gently pat in with your fingertips. Alternatively, you can also use a tinted day cream. For particularly dark circles under the eyes, there are special products on the market that cover the circles particularly well and also contain small shiny particles that reflect the light and make dark circles look a little brighter.
