Active ingredients in the spotlight: squalane

In fact, squalane is a natural component of our skin. This and its positive effect on our skin is probably the reason why the cosmetics industry is increasingly using squalane. It is an odorless oil that is usually obtained from olives, but is not nearly as greasy as olive oil. On the one hand, it protects our skin from moisture loss and, on the other hand, it promotes the absorption of cosmetics. The active ingredients contained are better transported thanks to the influence of squalane. In addition, it can be spread wonderfully on the skin and provides a pleasantly silky feeling. However, it is a relatively expensive active ingredient that does not last as long as other ingredients.

Moisture booster for the skin

Especially if you suffer from dry skin, squalane is a real miracle cure. It forms a hydro-lipid film on the skin and protects it from drying out. It protects the skin from moisture loss and prevents the famous dryness wrinkles. The skin automatically looks rosier and has more of that magical so-called glow.

Silky soft skin

Squalane leaves the skin feeling silky soft. The skin immediately becomes more supple - without any annoying greasy film. For this reason, squalane is an active ingredient that is often used in cosmetics.

Antioxidant effect

Squalane has an antioxidant effect. What this means specifically is that it can protect our skin from damaging free radicals. Similar to vitamins, they convert free radicals into molecular oxygen and thereby prevent them from reacting with other substances. Antioxidants also prevent skin aging and make it look fresh, young and plump.
