Harte Schale, feiner Kern: Kokosöl für die Haut

Hard shell, fine core: coconut oil for the skin

It is the epitome of summer, sun and exotic: the coconut. While in this country it is primarily used in the kitchen, in other countries such as Asia it is increasingly used in beauty care, especially in skin care. Rightly so! Because the deliciously scented oil is a wonderful and versatile beauty aid.

What's inside the nut

Coconut oil is pressed from the flesh of the coconut. It solidifies below 25 degrees, which is why it is often referred to as coconut oil. It gets its liquid state at higher temperatures. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, an active ingredient that can counteract premature skin aging. It also contains the ingredient lauric acid, which has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. Small injuries can be alleviated, and even smaller impurities can be carefully felt on the tooth with coconut oil. Coconut oil has an intensively nourishing effect and is able to compensate for the natural loss of moisture in the skin very well.

All-rounder in skin care

Coconut oil is a real all-rounder when it comes to skin care. The quickly absorbed oil cares for particularly dry and sensitive skin and its soothing scent makes it ideal for relaxing massages. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, the oil is said to be effective when used on pimples or blemished skin. However, this tip should be tried carefully first before smearing loads of the oil on your face. In the worst case scenario, you will achieve exactly the opposite and thus promote the formation of pimples and blackheads. Therefore: It is better to test carefully on one area of skin first. Basically, coconut oil should be used sparingly, as excessive amounts would clog the pores even more. Coconut oil also works wonderfully as a natural makeup remover. Simply applied to a cotton pad, it gently removes even waterproof make-up from the skin. Particularly dry or even hardened areas of skin, such as those on the knees or elbows, quickly become soft and supple again with regular treatment with coconut oil. But not only for our skin, coconut oil is also a wonderful tool for moisturizing and strengthening the hair.
