Fruchtsäurepeelings: Die sanfte Hautbehandlung

Fruit acid peelings: The gentle skin treatment

Fruit acid peels are a proven means of treating impure skin, pigmentation disorders, acne and acne scars. You can find out how the procedure works and what to pay attention to when using it in this article.

What is a fruit acid peeling?

Hardly anyone has completely clear, wrinkle-free skin that is also evenly pigmented. In fact, many people have relatively impure skin with large and small pores, bumps and dents, oily and dry areas. There are also laugh lines and wrinkles that have developed over the years. At least one product helps with impure skin: fruit acid peeling.

The special peeling is a chemical process in which the uppermost layers of skin are treated with concentrated fruit acids (AHA). This removes dimples and noticeably flattens raised skin.

What does a fruit acid peeling consist of?

Fruit acid peels usually consist of glycolic acid, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) or polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA). The natural product is found, for example, in sugar cane juice or grapes and has a positive effect on the skin. When used regularly, a fruit acid peeling loosens the upper layers of the skin. The result is a softened callus and the flattening of pimple scars. The peeling effect also contributes to the renewal of the epidermis. This can quickly improve the skin's appearance if unsightly, superficial changes have occurred following acne or scarring.

Are there risks?

There can also be certain risks with fruit acid peels . Complications can occur if the person suffers from an intolerance or allergy or uses an inappropriate product. Complications initially manifest themselves as redness, oozing and crust formation. Infections, pigmentation disorders and the development of undesirable scarring can also occur. Itching and redness can develop into chronic complaints.

In order to minimize the risk of complications, a skin care product that is as harmless as possible should be used in the preparation phase. Classic remedies that relieve the skin have proven themselves. This includes avoiding make-up and greasy skin creams as well as avoiding saunas or excessive exercise.

A fruit acid peeling rejuvenates the skin. The acids it contains - including various glycolic and alpha hydroxy acids - rub off the top layers of skin. Five to seven days after the peel, dandruff may appear. The skin is particularly red and sensitive during this period. After use: avoid strong skin irritations and treat the skin with a suitable care product.

This is to be done after the treatment

Most peeling creams can continue to be used between each fruit acid peeling. The use of these products should only be discontinued if redness and other complaints occur. If you have persistent symptoms or are unclear, we recommend visiting a dermatologist. The doctor can monitor the application and often give further tips for clear skin.

The fruit acid peeling is applied directly to the affected area. The eye area, corners of the mouth and intimate area are left out to avoid skin irritations and other complaints. After application, light makeup can be applied to cover any redness. The after effects of treatment should subside within a few hours. If symptoms persist, which can occur especially with sensitive skin, it is best to inform a dermatologist.

Which peeling is this right?

A whole range of fruit acid peelings and creams are available on the Internet. Not every product contains the same ingredients and has the same effect on the skin. The proportion of fruit acids contained can vary greatly and depends, among other things, on the manufacturing process. When purchasing, it is advisable to choose proven products that are recommended by well-known test magazines.

Cosmetic fruit acid peels differ significantly from the products offered in stores. Peels from drugstores and pharmacies often contain up to two percent fruit acid. For dermatological treatment, products with up to 70 percent fruit acid are permitted. The effects are correspondingly different. Due to these differences, the treatment must always be adapted to the respective skin condition. This is the only way to reliably avoid complications.
