Ein Händchen für Pflege – die perfekte Maniküre

A knack for care – the perfect manicure

Beautiful, well-groomed hands - it's all a question of the right manicure. The advantage: You don't necessarily have to go to the nail salon, you can easily do it yourself. All you need are the right utensils and the know-how. This not only saves money, but also a lot of time. We'll explain to you how it works and what you need to pay attention to.

Manicure step by step

The first step is to clean your nails. If there is still old nail polish on your nails, it will first be removed. The best way to do this is to use acetone-free nail polish remover and a cotton pad. To prepare your nails and cuticles for the care that follows, treat yourself to a nail bath in the next step. To do this, place your hands in warm water for about ten minutes; this will soften your skin and nails. Then dry thoroughly. Now you can gently push back your cuticles with a suitable stick so that the half-moons are visible. Get to the tool: Now it's time to get the right shape. Shorten your nails if necessary and file them with a nail file into your desired nail shape and smooth out sharp edges. Experts recommend only filing in one direction at a time, from the outside to the inside. If you want, you can now treat your hands to a peeling that you can easily make yourself using sugar, honey and olive oil. The sugar grains provide a gentle peeling effect, while the olive oil gives your skin an extra dose of care. Honey is rich in antioxidants and has an anti-inflammatory effect. The next step is to polish your nails with a polishing file to smooth out any grooves and unevenness. Attention: If you have particularly brittle or soft nails, you should polish them less often so that they don't become even more brittle. If you want, you can now apply a nail polish in your desired color. For longer wear, we recommend a base and a top coat. Finally, apply a moisturizing hand cream to your slopes.
