Der richtige Sonnenschutz ist enorm wichtig für unsere Haut

The right sun protection is extremely important for our skin

As much as we enjoy the sun and usually can't get enough of it, the right sun protection is extremely important for our skin. But why actually? We want to investigate this question in the following.

Too much sun damages the skin

It warms us, lifts our mood and is just so good - but too much of a good thing and especially without the right protection can actually have fatal consequences. This can quickly lead to sunburn. The name says it all here, because a sunburn is actually a burn of the skin, which occurs in varying degrees of severity and, if it occurs frequently, can even lead to skin cancer. UV radiation from the sun is primarily responsible for this. This can cause damage to our skin cells, which can potentially develop into skin cancer over time.

In addition, excessive exposure to the sun without proper protection causes premature aging of the skin and increases the formation of wrinkles.

The right sun protection

Proper sun protection starts with clothing: Light, airy clothing that covers parts of the body that are vulnerable to sunlight is good protection. In particular the shoulders, neck, ears, top of feet, nose and head -  i.e. all surfaces that the sun's rays can hit directly - are particularly affected here.

In addition, you should always use sunscreen with a sun protection factor that is suitable for your skin type. The rule of thumb is: the lighter your skin, the higher the sun protection factor you should use.

Many people believe that they only need to apply cream when they go out into the blazing sun, although almost 50 percent of the sun's direct rays can also reach the shade. Long-wave UVA light in particular can still be very intense in the shade.

The SPF should be renewed several times a day, especially after swimming and coming out of the water.

Since the sunlight is particularly intense around midday, you should definitely avoid intensive exposure to the midday sun.

Cream or milk?

Sunscreen, sun milk or would you rather use a gel or a spray? The selection of sun protection products is huge - but which product is the right one? In fact, each item has its own advantages and disadvantages. Whichever product you choose, you should always make sure that your sun protection protects against UV-A and UV-B rays.

Gel contains little fat and is therefore very suitable for athletes or people who suffer from acne.

In contrast to gel, a cream is very fatty. This allows the active ingredients contained in the cream to be better bound, which provides extremely effective protection.

Sunscreen cares for the skin particularly well, especially if it contains the antioxidant vitamin E.

It's especially for those who need to move quickly, as this is...    Sun spray can be spread very well on the skin. However, when spraying    some of the bottle contents are lost in the air.

If you suffer from allergies or generally have sensitive skin, you need to be particularly careful when choosing your sun protection.

If you are unsure which product is best for you, it is best to seek advice from a pharmacy or dermatologist.
